News: FREE workshops with a professional writer

Attention Aspiring Writers:
Do you enjoy writing short stories, novels, or poems? Want to learn how to create strong characters, bring a plot to conclusion, build suspense, or just tell an interesting story? The Teen Writing Club may be just what you need.The Maryland Writers’ Association teams with local libraries throughout Montgomery and Anne Arundel counties to offer clubs for writers age 12-17. Each club is led by a professional writer and the 90-minute meetings, usually held in early evening, including writing exercises and prompts, a chance to share your writing with other teens and get their feedback, conversations about the writing process, and visits with guest authors.

Clubs begin meeting in September at following libraries: Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Potomac, Praisner (Burtonsville), Bethesda, White Oak, Kensington, Olney, Annapolis, and Odenton.
