Stuff I Forgot To Tell You On The First Day

Things I Forgot To Tell You On Day One:

I want you to keep a writing journal, and write in it every day. Set yourself a goal (or a limit, if need be), and I recommend you make it at a regular time – when you first wake up, before you knock off for the night, whatever works. It can be a journal of your day, it can be trying out an idea that came to you, or it can be based on:

This is my website. I will publish a prompt every day. You can use it, or ignore it, as you wish.

FOR NEXT CLASS: Is there a dilemma you’re having with something you’re writing? A sticky situation, a character – or setting – or action – you can’t quite get right? Or maybe just something you’ve started on and would welcome general input? Bring something along to share, and we’ll try to help each other out.

Read This Stuff (pace yourself) and Think About Imagery:

I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
The Love Song of Alfred J Prufrock

Next week, we’ll talk about how images are evoked (among other things).

I really enjoyed meeting all of you this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing what develops during our semester together.
